CYDKICK ADD-ON / IN DEVELOPMENT

SEE THE SOUND.
VERIFY THE DIRECTION.

Sound Compass turns verified game-audio direction into a clear visual signal on the display you choose. CYDSURROUND is being built to route that raw channel path to the gear you already own.

Built to be clear about what the audio signal can—and cannot—prove.

Sound Compass

DIRECTION ONLY AS FAR AS THE SIGNAL CAN PROVE.

Sound Compass is a CYDKICK add-on being built for game audio that has been verified as multichannel. It will inspect the original channel path before a supported headphone or speaker setup reduces it for listening.

01 / VERIFIED MULTICHANNEL

Show the direction that is actually there.

When a game provides real 5.1 or 7.1 channel information and the route is verified, the frame can show only the channel positions present in that verified layout.

02 / STEREO

Left and right. Nothing invented.

With a stereo source, Sound Compass limits the visual to left and right. An equal stereo signal is not presented as being ahead of you.

03 / LFE

Bass is never treated as direction.

The low-frequency effects channel is ignored for placement so a subwoofer hit does not create a false cue around the frame.

A frame that stays out of the way

VISIBLE WHEN YOU NEED IT. INVISIBLE WHEN YOU DON’T.

Place the transparent, click-through frame around a selected monitor—or draw a custom rectangle over just the center of an ultrawide. When no sound is active, there is no persistent outline in the way.

  • DISPLAYChoose a monitor or custom area
  • PROFILESSave a default and per-game placements
  • RESPONSEAdjust colors, sensitivity, brightness, and fade
  • DETECTIONStart with best-effort gunfire and footstep recognition; refine with game profiles
  • TESTUse channel-isolation checks before live play

CYDSURROUND / PLANNED VIRTUAL WINDOWS AUDIO COMPONENT

BUILD SURROUND AROUND THE HARDWARE YOU ALREADY OWN.

CYDSURROUND is being designed as a real Windows playback device and routing engine. Its job is to let a game send a chosen surround layout, then map each channel to the speakers, headset, soundbar, or virtual outputs you choose.

Planned controls include per-position volume, delay, calibration, saved layouts, reconnect handling, and an Audio output device plus Forwarding audio choice—such as Auto, Stereo, Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, THX, 5.1, or 7.1. Capability detection can assist, but a real channel test and your confirmation are required before a route is called verified.

It will not silently change your Windows default device or vendor settings. Every route is chosen, tested, and confirmed by you.

One clear path

ROUTE IT. TEST IT. READ WHAT’S THERE.

CYDSURROUND handles Windows playback routing. Sound Compass communicates only the direction that the verified signal supports.

  1. 01

    Choose the layout

Select 2.0, 2.1, 5.1, or 7.1 and choose the audio output device plus forwarding audio mode.

  2. 02

    Map each position

Assign a surround position to the output and left, right, or left + right channel that fits your actual setup.

  3. 03

    Confirm the route

Run isolated channel tests, calibrate volume and delay, then save a layout that can recover after reconnects.

  4. 04

    Light the verified direction

Sound Compass will receive the original channel data and keep its visual claim within the verified route.

Designed for clarity, not illusion

HELP US PROVE THE PATH IN REAL SETUPS.

Sound Compass and CYDSURROUND are being developed in stages. Beta feedback will help validate real game channel paths, routing behavior, and the setups people actually use.
